I’m Emma, a marketing generalist with 14+ years of rolling up my sleeves across a crazy mix of industries, from car tyres, to tapware, to aged-care.
What does “generalist” mean? It means I speak fluent marketing strategy, social media, brand messaging and everything in between, so you get well-rounded advice, not tunnel-vision tactics.
But let me be honest, I haven’t always been thriving. I slogged away in full-time roles, dragging myself into the office with my “tired but upbeat” face firmly in place. I missed time with my family, lied to myself about “fitting it all in,” and watched my best ideas get side-lined in ego-driven boardrooms.
I’d escape to women’s business events for a jolt of inspiration, only to be ground down again the next day at work.
Everything changed when I fell pregnant with my third child (yes, I went back a third time!) and realised I simply couldn’t keep pretending. I started chatting with business owners and realised my broad skillset was in hot demand. If only I had the courage to leap.
So, six months pregnant, I quit my full-time job, shook off the fear and wrapped myself in a warm blanket of inspiring businesswomen who continue to fuel me every day.
Was it scary? You bet. Is it still scary? Absolutely.
But showing up - really showing up - has been the best decision of my life.
Now, I’m back to being an energised member of my five-person household (yes, it’s hectic, and yes we still survive). I get to work with fantastic clients who are absolutely crushing it, and together we turn marketing from a headache into a roadmap for growth.
